Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited (PSX) announced its financial results for the year ended June 30, 2026, revealing a substantial rise in profits. The Board of Directors, convening on August 27, 2026, approved the annual audited financial statements and declared a final cash dividend of Re. 1 per share, equivalent to 10% for the financial year.
The PSX reported a profit of 2.24 billion rupees for the year, a notable increase from the previous year's 1.63 billion rupees. This represents a very large or significant move of 37.17% in profit. The earnings per share also rose to 2.80 rupees from 2.04 rupees, reflecting the company's improved financial performance.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company's revenue for the year increased to 2.94 billion rupees from 2.46 billion rupees in 2025. This growth was driven by higher listing fees and increased income from exchange operations. The listing fee alone contributed 911.24 million rupees, while income from exchange operations amounted to 1.82 billion rupees.
The annual general meeting (AGM) of PSX is scheduled for October 6, 2026, at the registered office and through video conferencing. Shareholders registered by September 29, 2026, will be eligible for the declared dividend. The share transfer books of the Exchange will be closed from September 30 to October 6, 2026.
The PSX's operating profit experienced an increase, reaching 777.78 million rupees from the previous year's 400.64 million rupees. Additionally, the share of profit from associates rose to 2.02 billion rupees, further strengthening the company's financial position.
Administrative expenses for the year totaled 2.16 billion rupees, reflecting a minor move compared to the previous year. However, other income decreased significantly, from 119.81 million rupees in 2025 to 6.62 million rupees in 2026.
The PSX's balance sheet also saw an increase in reserves and shareholders' equity, with the total equity reaching 13.34 billion rupees as of June 30, 2026. The company's strong financial performance underscores its resilience in a challenging economic environment.
