Karachi: The Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited (FFC) has reported a period of notable financial growth for the first half of 2026, despite facing a challenging market environment marked by geopolitical tensions and fluctuating energy prices. According to a directors' review released on August 27, 2026, the company's strategic marketing and robust distribution practices led to increased sales volumes, which bolstered its financial performance.
The directors' review highlighted that the company's urea plants in Goth Machhi and Mirpur Mathelo produced 1,262 thousand tonnes of prilled urea, marking a very large or significant move with a 3% increase compared to the same period last year. However, granular urea production at the Port Qasim plant saw a decline, producing 155 thousand tonnes against last year's 192 thousand tonnes. Sona DAP production also decreased by 6% to 369 thousand tonnes due to gas curtailment and a shortage of phosphoric acid.
In terms of sales, the company experienced a robust increase in urea offtake, which rose to 1,404 thousand tonnes from 1,122 thousand tonnes during the corresponding period. DAP sales, including imported products, increased from 288 thousand tonnes to 318 thousand tonnes in 2026. Consequently, the company's market share for urea improved significantly to 56% from 48%, while DAP market share grew by 3% to 66%.
Financially, FFC reported that its revenue surged to PKR 200 billion, up from PKR 155 billion in 2025, driven largely by the higher sales volumes. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), this rise in revenue, alongside controlled operating costs and investment income of PKR 28 billion, resulted in a net profit of PKR 41.8 billion. This translated into earnings per share of PKR 29.1, compared to PKR 27.0 in the previous year.
The Board of Directors has announced a second interim dividend of PKR 14.5 per share, with a cumulative distribution of PKR 23 per share for the half-year, reflecting the company's commitment to providing returns to its shareholders amidst a fluctuating market landscape.
