Karachi: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced the successful commissioning of the Lundali-1 Well in the Sukhpur-II Block, Sindh Province, with first gas production achieved on September 06, 2026. OGDCL holds a 30% working interest in the project.

The Lundali-1 Well is presently producing 10 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) of gas. The wellhead pressure is recorded at 2,000 pounds per square inch (psi), with the gas supply directed to Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC).

Prime Global Energies Limited operates the Sukhpur-II Block with a 25% working interest. The other stakeholders in the joint venture include Mari Energies Limited, which also holds a 30% working interest, and Turkish Petroleum Overseas Company Limited with a 15% stake. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the Lundali-1 Well is part of a larger effort to bolster the national energy supply with additional indigenous resources.

The Petroleum Concession Agreement and the Exploration Licence for the Sukhpur-II Block (2568-23) became effective on December 02, 2025. Under a previous joint venture arrangement, the Lundali-1 Well was drilled and has since been brought on stream by the current joint venture partners. The commencement of production from Lundali-1 is set to contribute positively to the energy landscape of the region.
