Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has announced the continued suspension of trading in the shares of Trust Investment Bank Limited and Safa Textiles Limited. This decision, effective from September 22, 2026, follows the companies' failure to address the reasons for their initial suspension as stipulated by PSX regulations.
The suspension is in accordance with Sub-Section (7) of Section 19 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.11 of the PSX Regulations. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Trust Investment Bank Limited has defaulted on several PSX regulations, including the failure to hold Annual General Meetings, non-submission of Annual Audited Financial Statements, and non-payment of exchange dues. Additionally, the company's Investment Finance Services (IFS) license has been canceled by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), and an order for winding-up proceedings has been issued.
Similarly, Safa Textiles Limited has been cited for failing to hold its Annual General Meetings, non-submission of Annual Audited Financial Statements, and non-payment of exchange dues. The PSX has decided that the suspension will remain in effect until these issues are resolved or for another 60-day period beginning September 22, 2026.
This decision underscores the PSX's commitment to regulatory compliance within the designated market category, ensuring that companies adhere to necessary financial and governance standards. The ongoing suspension serves as a cautionary measure to maintain the integrity of the market and protect investor interests.
