NBP Financial Sector Fund Reports Significant Income Growth Amid Rising Dividend and Investment Gains

Karachi: NBP Fund Management Limited has released its annual financial statement for the NBP Financial Sector Fund, detailing a substantial increase in income for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. The report, dated October 1, 2026, highlights a marked growth in several income streams, contributing to a significant improvement in the fund's financial performance.

The fund's total income surged to 415.90 million Rupees, a very large or significant move compared to the previous year's 121.57 million Rupees. This growth was largely driven by a sharp increase in dividend income, which rose to 151.86 million Rupees from 29.79 million Rupees, and net realised gain on the sale of investments, which increased to 194.71 million Rupees from 72.20 million Rupees. Additionally, the net unrealised appreciation on re-measurement of investments classified as financial assets 'at fair value through profit or loss' contributed 62.95 million Rupees, up from 17.11 million Rupees, marking a big move.

Expenses also saw a rise, reaching 61.63 million Rupees compared to 11.32 million Rupees the previous year. The increase was primarily due to higher remuneration for the management company, which amounted to 25.90 million Rupees from 4.15 million Rupees, and securities transaction costs, which rose to 24.18 million Rupees from 3.90 million Rupees.

Despite the rise in expenses, the fund reported a net income before taxation of 354.27 million Rupees, up from 110.25 million Rupees last year. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the fund's net income for the year after taxation remained the same, as there was no taxation applied.

The allocation of net income after taxation was recorded at 354.27 million Rupees, with 173.23 million Rupees already paid on units redeemed. The remaining accounting income available for distribution, relating to capital gains, stood at 181.04 million Rupees, compared to 65.60 million Rupees in the previous year.
