Amreli Steels Reports Positive Turnaround with Significant Financial Gains

Karachi: Amreli Steels Limited has reported a remarkable turnaround in its financial performance for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. According to its annual report released on October 5, 2026, the company achieved a profit after taxation of 547.92 million Rupees, a significant improvement from the loss of 3.81 billion Rupees in the previous year.

The company's statement of financial position reveals a total asset base of 40.79 billion Rupees, marking a reduction from 43.36 billion Rupees as of June 30, 2025. The decrease in total assets is primarily attributable to a decline in non-current assets, which stood at 25.75 billion Rupees, down from 27.50 billion Rupees in the previous year. Notably, property, plant, and equipment values decreased to 25.24 billion Rupees from 27.25 billion Rupees.

Current assets declined to 14.26 billion Rupees from 15.09 billion Rupees, with cash and bank balances showing a notable decrease to 1.40 billion Rupees from 3.91 billion Rupees in the prior year. Despite these reductions, the company exhibited resilience in its stock in trade and trade debts, which increased to 4.08 billion Rupees and 3.01 billion Rupees, respectively.

The equity and liabilities section reveals a shift in the financial structure of Amreli Steels, with total equity rising to 12.14 billion Rupees from 10.45 billion Rupees. The increase is supported by an improvement in revenue reserves, as accumulated losses narrowed to 3.40 billion Rupees from 4.22 billion Rupees.

Non-current liabilities showed a substantial increase to 18.44 billion Rupees from 3.93 billion Rupees, driven by long-term financing and government grants. Current liabilities, however, reduced significantly to 10.21 billion Rupees from 28.97 billion Rupees, aided by a decrease in short-term borrowings and accrued interest.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Amreli Steels' revenue from net sales surged to 21.34 billion Rupees, up from 16.08 billion Rupees in the previous fiscal year, representing a very large or significant move. The company also reported a gross profit of 1.34 billion Rupees, an increase from 76.01 million Rupees in the previous year.

The earnings per share (EPS) for the year stood at 1.69 Rupees, a considerable improvement from a loss per share of 12.83 Rupees in 2025. This improvement is largely attributed to a gain on restructuring long-term financing, amounting to 3.11 billion Rupees, which played a pivotal role in enhancing the company's financial performance.

Amreli Steels' financial results reflect a strategic realignment and an effective restructuring approach, positioning the company for future growth in the steel manufacturing sector.
