Tri-Star Mutual Fund Limited Reports Substantial Decline in Annual Profits

Karachi: Tri-Star Mutual Fund Limited has released its 34th annual report, detailing a significant shift in its financial performance for the year ending June 30, 2026. The report, presented by the Board of Directors, highlights a marked decrease in profits compared to the previous year.

The fund reported a profit after taxation of Rs. 2,556,374 for the year, a substantial decline from the Rs. 21,568,418 recorded in 2025. This represents a very large or significant move in profitability, with the earning per certificate also decreasing from 4.31 to 0.51. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the fund's income from operations fell to Rs. 16,421,997 from Rs. 25,083,355 the previous year, while operating expenses rose slightly to Rs. 3,419,259 from Rs. 3,101,932.

Despite these financial challenges, the fund's total comprehensive income showed a positive turn, amounting to Rs. 22,634,266, up from Rs. 19,482,497 in 2025, largely due to an increase in other comprehensive income, which reached Rs. 20,077,892 from a loss of Rs. 2,085,922 the previous year.

The Board of Directors has recommended no dividend payout for the year ended June 30, 2026, reflecting the overall financial results of the fund. The financial statements, prepared by the management, adhere to the International Accounting Standards applicable in Pakistan, and maintain a sound system of internal control. The report underscores that there are no significant doubts about the fund's ability to continue as a going concern, and that there has been no material departure from the best practices of Corporate Governance.
