Karachi: The Board of Directors of Invest Capital Investment Bank Limited has released the unaudited financial statements for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2026-27, ended on September 30, 2026. The report, dated October 27, 2026, details a decrease in net profits and an increase in administrative expenses.
The company reported a net profit of Rupees 17.98 million for the quarter, a decline from Rupees 20.40 million in the same period last year. Earnings per share stood at Rupees 0.042, down from Rupees 0.072 in September 2025. The company attributed the decrease in profit to an unrealized loss on investment in shares, which it anticipates may reverse in future periods. Gross revenue, including other income, totaled Rupees 28.43 million, showing a minor move from Rupees 28.48 million in the previous year.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company's administrative and operating expenses rose to Rupees 9.26 million from Rupees 7.80 million in the comparable period. This increase is attributed to one-time expenses related to Capital Reduction and an Extraordinary General Meeting held during the quarter. Financial charges also increased due to short-term borrowing in the previous year.
The company saw its total assets rise by Rupees 36.97 million, reaching Rupees 1,702.77 million as of September 30, 2026, up from Rupees 1,665.81 million at the end of June 2026. Total liabilities increased to Rupees 896.03 million from Rupees 877.05 million as of June 30, 2026, while equity grew to Rupees 806.75 million from Rupees 788.76 million at the previous quarter's end.
Despite the decline in profits, the company made significant investments in new financing business, allocating Rupees 99.99 million to leases and loans, as well as Rupees 82.05 million to Government securities. The management highlighted the negligible infection level in their new financing business due to effective risk management and prudent post-disbursement monitoring, with nearly full recovery of billed amounts.
The broader economic context includes a 3.70% real GDP growth rate for Pakistan in FY26, with projections for FY27 ranging from 3.5% to 4.5% according to the State Bank of Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund. Inflation eased to 10.30% in September 2026, down from August's 11.10%. The company remains confident that these macroeconomic challenges will not impact its profitability, which is expected to improve in the future.
