Lahore: The Board of Directors of Sazgar Engineering Works Limited, in its meeting held on October 26, 2026, announced key financial decisions, including an interim cash dividend and revisions in managerial remuneration, following the release of its financial results for the quarter ending September 30, 2026.
Sazgar Engineering Works Limited, in its unaudited condensed interim statement, reported a net profit of 4.04 billion rupees for the first quarter, marking a decrease from the 4.42 billion rupees recorded in the same period last year. This decline is attributed to increased distribution and marketing costs which rose significantly from 964.06 million rupees to 1.66 billion rupees. Administrative expenses also saw a minor increase, with a recorded figure of 218.29 million rupees compared to the previous 206.48 million rupees.
Sales revenue for the quarter reached 41.71 billion rupees, up from 33.82 billion rupees, indicating a very large or significant move in sales performance. Despite this, the gross profit slightly dipped from 8.52 billion rupees to 8.51 billion rupees, reflecting the impact of rising costs. The operating profit also saw a reduction from 6.81 billion rupees to 6.15 billion rupees.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the Board has approved an interim cash dividend of 50%, equivalent to 5.00 rupees per share, for the financial period ending June 30, 2027. Additionally, a revision in the monthly managerial remuneration for the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Directors was approved, effective from July 1, 2026. The revised remuneration for the CEO is set at 7.00 million rupees, while the Executive Director for the Three Wheelers and Automotive Parts Division will receive 4.00 million rupees, and the Executive Director for the Car Division is set to earn 2.50 million rupees.
The financial results highlight a decrease in profit before taxation, which fell from 7.24 billion rupees last year to 6.44 billion rupees this year, influenced by a rise in finance costs from 79.23 million rupees to 333.55 million rupees. The earnings per share also decreased from 73.07 rupees to 66.77 rupees.
These developments come amid a financial landscape marked by fluctuating costs and revenues, as the company navigates the challenges of maintaining profitability while addressing operational expenses.
