Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited has announced the re-composition of the Alfalah Consumer Index (ACI), effective as of June 28, 2024. This adjustment follows the stipulated index rules, leading to the inclusion and exclusion of several companies in the ACI.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the re-composition sees the entry of Sazgar Engineering Works Limited, Fauji Cement Company Limited, and GlaxoSmithKline Pakistan Limited. These companies replace Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited, Citi Pharma Limited, and Maple Leaf Cement Factory Limited, respectively.
The updated composition of the ACI now includes major players such as Lucky Cement Limited, Millat Tractors Limited, and Pakistan State Oil Company Limited, each holding a significant weight of 10%. Other notable companies like Interloop Limited and D.G. Khan Cement Company Limited also maintain substantial weights within the index.
The changes are set to be implemented starting July 5, 2024, impacting the weights and representation of the included companies in the ACI. This re-composition reflects ongoing shifts in the consumer sector, aiming to provide a more accurate representation of market dynamics.
