Allied Bank Limited Announces 40% Interim Cash Dividend Amid Share Transfer Book Closure

Karachi: Allied Bank Limited has declared a third interim cash dividend for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2026, amounting to 40%, equivalent to Rs. 4.00 per share. This announcement was made following the board meeting held on October 29, 2026. In line with this, the bank has announced the closure of its share transfer books from November 10, 2026, to November 12, 2026, to determine the entitlement of shareholders.

The bank has urged shareholders to ensure that their share transfer requests are submitted by the close of business on November 6, 2026, to be eligible for the dividend. Additionally, shareholders are advised to update their registered addresses with the bank's Share Registrar and Transfer Agent, CDC Share Registrar Services Limited, located in Karachi.

The bank has also emphasized the importance of providing mandatory shareholder information such as CNIC numbers, contact details, and International Bank Account Numbers (IBAN) as per the Companies Act, 2017, and related regulations. Those who fail to provide this information risk having their dividends withheld.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Allied Bank Limited has highlighted the importance of complying with tax regulations. The withholding tax on dividends will be deducted based on the Active Taxpayers List (ATL) from the Federal Board of Revenue. Shareholders appearing on the ATL will incur a 15% tax deduction, whereas those absent from this list will face a 30% deduction.

Joint shareholders are required to inform the bank of their share ratios to ensure accurate tax deduction. Additionally, shareholders seeking exemption under the Income Tax Ordinance must submit valid documentation by November 6, 2026, to avoid tax deductions.

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has mandated the conversion of physical shares into book-entry form as per the Companies Act, 2017. Shareholders are encouraged to open investor accounts with the Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited to facilitate this transition and ensure the safe custody of their shares.

Allied Bank Limited has reiterated the benefits of converting physical shares into book-entry form, including enhanced security and ease of transaction in the stock market. Shareholders are urged to contact the CDC Share Registrar Services Ltd. for assistance with this process.
