Karachi: Attock Refinery Limited has announced its plans to hold the 22nd Extraordinary General Meeting (EOGM) on July 12, 2024, at Attock House, Morgah, Rawalpindi, and via video link. This meeting will include the election of directors for a three-year term, encompassing candidates across several categories, with notable updates in voting procedures to accommodate all shareholders.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the Board has categorized nominations into "Others Directors Category," "Independent Directors Category," and noted a lack of nominations for the "Female Directors Category." Five candidates are uncontested for the "Others Directors Category" and will be deemed elected unopposed. However, more candidates than available positions in the "Independent Directors Category" will necessitate a formal election.
For this election, Attock Refinery has introduced an enhanced voting process, providing e-voting and postal ballot options to ensure broad participation. E-voting will be accessible from July 8 to July 11, 2024, while postal ballots must be submitted by July 11, 2024. These measures are designed to facilitate shareholder engagement and ensure a transparent electoral process overseen by the appointed scrutineers, UHY Hassan Naeem & Co., Chartered Accountants.
This approach not only reflects the company’s commitment to good corporate governance but also adapts to the increasing need for accessibility and security in shareholder voting practices.
