Islamabad: The AWT Money Market Fund has successfully passed its financial audit, confirming the accuracy and proper valuation of its investments, as reported on June 30, 2024. The audit was conducted in compliance with the International Standards on Auditing applicable in Pakistan.
The independent auditor’s report highlighted a key audit matter concerning the existence and valuation of the Fund's investments, which are pivotal to the Fund’s financial performance. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), as of June 30, 2024, the Fund held investments totaling 2.28 billion PKR. These investments, mainly in government securities and other financial instruments, are fundamental to the Fund's asset management strategy.
The audit firm conducted thorough checks to verify the existence and accurate valuation of these investments. This involved independent verification through the Central Depository Company and the Mutual Fund Association of Pakistan, along with direct assessments of quoted rates and applicable valuation methods.
Moreover, the auditors confirmed that the financial statements provided by the Fund give a true and fair view of its financial position and comply with the ethical standards prescribed by the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants. This reassurance supports the transparency and operational integrity crucial to investor confidence.
Management responsibilities were also outlined, emphasizing the necessity for accurate financial reporting and diligent oversight by the Management Company and its Board of Directors.
