Azgard Nine Limited Reports Financial Growth Amid Increased Liabilities

Karachi: Azgard Nine Limited released its annual financial report on October 5, 2026, showcasing a robust financial position despite an increase in liabilities. The company's total equity rose to 15.64 billion Rupees as of June 30, 2026, compared to 14.80 billion Rupees the previous year. This growth in equity is attributed to a rise in retained earnings, which climbed from 2.95 billion Rupees to 3.19 billion Rupees, and an increase in capital reserves.

The report highlights an increase in total liabilities, reaching 16.53 billion Rupees from 14.42 billion Rupees last year. Non-current liabilities saw a rise due to new entries such as long-term borrowings totaling 131.25 million Rupees and lease liabilities amounting to 137.98 million Rupees. Current liabilities increased significantly, notably in trade and other payables, which grew from 3.65 billion Rupees to 4.80 billion Rupees, and short-term borrowings that surged from 2.69 billion Rupees to 3.96 billion Rupees.

On the assets side, Azgard Nine Limited reported total assets of 32.17 billion Rupees, an increase from 29.22 billion Rupees in the previous year. Non-current assets increased, driven by a rise in property, plant, and equipment valued at 14.32 billion Rupees, up from 12.09 billion Rupees. Current assets also saw a boost, with trade receivables growing from 3.86 billion Rupees to 5.05 billion Rupees.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Azgard Nine Limited's revenue from contracts with customers witnessed a very large or significant move, increasing to 42.50 billion Rupees from 40.60 billion Rupees. The company's gross profit improved to 5.05 billion Rupees from 4.98 billion Rupees, despite the cost of sales climbing to 37.45 billion Rupees from 35.63 billion Rupees.

The company experienced a decline in other income, which fell to 760.33 million Rupees from 848.47 million Rupees. Meanwhile, administrative expenses showed a big move, rising to 1.24 billion Rupees from 1.00 billion Rupees. Despite these challenges, Azgard Nine Limited reported a profit before income taxes of 978.84 million Rupees, up from 945.04 million Rupees, and a profit after income taxes of 869.87 million Rupees, compared to 701.80 million Rupees the previous year.

In terms of shareholder returns, the basic earnings per share increased to 1.77 Rupees from 1.43 Rupees, reflecting the company's overall financial improvement during the fiscal year.
