Karachi: Chakwal Spinning Mills Limited (CWSM) is facing further disciplinary measures from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) following its failure to pay a penalty imposed under Clause 5.21.1 of the PSX Regulations. This development, announced on June 24, 2025, marks another chapter in the company’s ongoing regulatory challenges.
According to the PSX, CWSM has been placed in the Non-Compliant Segment due to its non-payment within the specified timeframe. This category is designated for companies that fail to meet obligations such as annual listing fees for two consecutive years, penalties imposed by the exchange, or any other dues as per the regulations.
Previously, CWSM had been categorized under the Non-Compliant Segment owing to the suspension of its commercial production and primary business operations. Additionally, an adverse opinion from its statutory auditor in the audit report further compounded its standing. The latest non-compliance under Clause 5.11.1.(d) of the PSX Regulations is now listed in the Daily Quotations of the Exchange, effective from June 25, 2025.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), CWSM has been instructed to address this non-compliance by September 23, 2025. Failure to rectify the situation could result in further actions, including the issuance of a Risk Warning Alert (RWA) under Clause 5.11.3.(d) of the PSX Regulations.
The designated market category for CWSM remains under scrutiny as the company navigates these regulatory challenges. Stakeholders and investors are closely monitoring the developments, which will significantly impact the company’s future standing on the exchange.
