Karachi, Chashma Sugar Mills Limited has been afforded additional time by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to conduct its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the year ended September 30, 2023. The SECP has extended the deadline to February 27, 2024. This extension is instrumental for the company in finalizing and sharing its annual financial outcomes and operational insights with its shareholders in a detailed manner.

Karachi, The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSE) has shown a consistent increase in both listed capital and market capitalization over the last six months, according to the latest data. From August 2023 to January 2024, the exchange saw growth across several key financial metrics, although the turnover of shares and index values experienced fluctuations during the same period.

In August 2023, the PSE reported a listed capital of 1,629,437.234 million Rs., which gradually rose to 1,669,726.507 million Rs. by January 2024. Similarly, market capitalization increased from 6,715,880.490 million Rs. in August to 9,073,759.924 million Rs. in January, indicating a positive trend in the value of the companies listed on the exchange.

The turnover of shares, representing the number of shares traded, showed variable performance. August witnessed a turnover of 6,814.516 million in ready shares and 2,511.124 million in future contracts. By December, these figures had surged to 21,165.662 million for ready shares and 5,347.305 million for future contracts, before decreasing in January to 11,737.426 million for ready shares and 4,167.581 million for future contracts.

Index values, which provide a snapshot of the market's overall health, also saw changes. The KSE 100 Index, starting at 45,002.420 in August, peaked at 62,451.040 in December, before slightly retracting to 61,979.180 in January. The KSE All Share Index followed a similar pattern, beginning at 30,041.970, reaching 41,916.270 in December, and adjusting to 41,892.680 in January.

This data from the PSE highlights the dynamic nature of the stock exchange over the past six months, with overall growth in capital and market valuation, despite fluctuations in trading activity and index values.
