Karachi: Cherat Packaging Limited, a notable entity in the designated market category of packaging, presented its corporate briefing session on Friday, October 9, 2026. The company disclosed substantial advancements in its financial performance for the fiscal year ending 2026, marked by a significant increase in profit after tax.
According to the report dated October 8, 2026, the company's revenue ascended to Rs. 15,093 million from the previous year's Rs. 13,014 million, marking a very large or significant move of 16%. This growth was attributed to increased sales quantities and improved sales prices in both the Finished Product Division (FPD) and Paper Product Division (PPD). Consequently, the gross profit exhibited a big move, soaring by 84% to Rs. 1,879 million compared to Rs. 1,021 million in 2025.
Operating profit also experienced a noteworthy surge, rising by 66% to Rs. 1,472 million from Rs. 886 million in the prior year. This was supported by a reduction in finance costs, which decreased by 17% to Rs. 384 million from Rs. 463 million. The decline in finance costs was a result of reduced discount rates compared to the previous year.
Profit before income tax and levies showed a very large or significant move, with an increase of 157%, reaching Rs. 1,088 million from Rs. 424 million. The taxation-related expenses, however, recorded a very large or significant move, climbing by 548% to Rs. 437 million, spurred by heightened profitability.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company's profit after tax escalated to Rs. 651 million from Rs. 356 million, reflecting an 83% increase. This substantial rise underscores the company's robust financial health and strategic operational adjustments.
Despite a decline in other income by 30%, attributed to previous gains from asset sales and short-term investments, Cherat Packaging Limited managed to offset this through gains recognized from discounting and re-measurement activities amounting to Rs. 189 million in the current year.
The company’s strategic financial maneuvers and operational adjustments have evidently contributed to its enhanced performance outcomes, as detailed in the latest statements of profit or loss.
