Crescent Cotton Mills Sells Spinning Unit for Rs. 550.00 Million

Lahore: In a significant move, Crescent Cotton Mills Limited has finalized the sale of its spinning unit for Rs. 550.00 million, a strategic decision following shareholder approval during an Extraordinary General Meeting (EOGM) on June 03, 2024. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), this transaction marks a pivotal shift for the company as it disposes of a major asset located at 46 Km, Lahore Multan Road, Chak # 66, Dina Nath, Tehsil Pattoki, District Kasur.

The sale was authorized after the EGM where shareholders granted the Chief Executive Officer and Director the green light to negotiate and conclude deals beneficial to the company. The buyer, whose details remain undisclosed, has agreed to acquire the entire assets of the spinning unit. The conclusion of this deal involved signing the Assets Sale and Purchase Agreement, solidifying the terms agreed upon by both parties.

This move is part of Crescent Cotton Mills Limited’s broader strategy to optimize its operations and focus on other profitable segments. The assets involved in the transaction include the full operational spinning unit, which has been a part of the company’s holdings for several years.

As per the agreement, the transfer of ownership and the financial transaction have been officially recorded, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Shareholders and TRE Certificate holders of the company have been informed of this significant change as it may influence the company's stock performance on the PSX.

This strategic divestment aligns with Crescent Cotton Mills Limited's objectives of restructuring and streamlining its operations, focusing on core areas that promise higher returns and operational efficiency.
