Crestwell Healthcare Limited Reports Sharp Decline in Financial Performance Amid Power Segment Discontinuation

Karachi: Crestwell Healthcare Limited, a company listed under the healthcare sector, has unveiled its audited annual report for the financial year ending June 30, 2026, revealing a significant downturn in its overall financial position and performance. The report, released on October 8, 2026, underscores the challenges faced by the company, particularly following the discontinuation of its power segment operations.

The company's total assets plummeted to PKR 13,098,909 from the previous year's PKR 18,389,194, marking a very large or significant move. This decline was primarily driven by a reduction in current assets, which fell to PKR 2,277,328 from PKR 7,168,123. Notably, the absence of other receivables contributed significantly to this decrease, alongside a reduction in trade and other payables from PKR 14,506,116 to PKR 6,618,921.

Crestwell's equity position showed a moderate move with an increase to PKR 4,490,845 from PKR 670,820. This improvement was largely attributed to an advance against the issue of shares, which stood at PKR 1,373,667. However, the company's accumulated losses slightly decreased to PKR 264,331,822 from PKR 266,778,180.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Crestwell's revenue from discontinued operations in the power segment dropped to nil from PKR 6,145,860, leading to a gross loss of PKR 1,786,118 in the prior year. Operating expenses increased, with administrative and selling expenses recorded at PKR 5,327,867 and other charges amounting to PKR 2,878,132, resulting in an operating loss of PKR 8,205,999 compared to the previous year's PKR 8,401,192.

The net loss after taxation was reported at PKR 8,207,885, a slight improvement from the prior year's loss of PKR 8,404,648. Earnings per share showed no change, remaining at a loss of PKR 0.46 per share, compared to the previous year's PKR 0.47 per share.

Despite the challenging financial landscape, Crestwell Healthcare Limited has maintained its authorized capital at PKR 800,000,000, while its issued, subscribed, and paid-up capital remains unchanged at PKR 178,332,670. The company's strategic decisions and financial adjustments reflect its ongoing efforts to stabilize and potentially recover in the coming fiscal periods.
