Karachi: Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited, in its Board of Directors meeting held on July 30, 2026, announced the financial results for the six months ending June 30, 2026. The company reported a decline in profitability compared to the same period last year, citing increased operational costs as a contributing factor.

The financial statements reveal that Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited generated a revenue of Rs. 6,064.14 million during the first half of 2026, marking a significant increase from Rs. 5,257.77 million in the corresponding period of 2025. However, the cost of revenue surged to Rs. 5,464.58 million from Rs. 4,611.69 million, resulting in a gross profit of Rs. 599.56 million, which is lower than the Rs. 646.08 million recorded in the previous year.

The company's profit before taxation stood at Rs. 358.77 million, a decrease from Rs. 480.05 million reported in the first half of 2025. After accounting for taxation of Rs. 12.36 million, the profit for the period amounted to Rs. 346.41 million, a substantial decrease from Rs. 459.92 million in the prior year.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited declared an interim cash dividend of Rs. 1.00 per share, equating to 10%. The company did not announce any bonus shares, right shares, or other corporate actions.

The balance sheet indicates a reduction in total assets from Rs. 15,753.24 million at the end of December 2025 to Rs. 15,028.04 million as of June 30, 2026. Non-current assets slightly decreased, while current assets saw a more pronounced decline. The liabilities also decreased from Rs. 4,121.95 million to Rs. 3,455.09 million.

The earnings per share for the half-year were recorded at Rs. 1.07, compared to Rs. 1.42 during the same period last year. This reflects the company's ongoing challenges with managing costs amid fluctuating market conditions within the designated market category.
