Karachi: Fauji Cement Company Limited announced on September 22, 2026, that its Board of Directors has approved a new renewable energy project. The project, sanctioned through Resolution by Circulation, involves the installation of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with a capacity of 25 MWh and dedicated solar power setups of 5 MW each at the company's Nizampur and Jhang Bahtar plants. This development will result in an aggregate BESS energy capacity of 50 MWh and a total dedicated solar capacity of 10 MW. The project is expected to be completed within 10 months from the start date.
The strategic initiative aims to store daytime solar energy in the BESS, which will then be discharged during evening peak hours. This approach is designed to reduce reliance on peak grid electricity, optimize energy costs, and enhance the renewable energy capacity of Fauji Cement Company Limited.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), stakeholders and members have been informed of this new development in the designated market category. The project underscores the company's commitment to sustainable energy solutions and cost efficiency in its operations.
