Lahore: Ghani ChemWorld Limited (GCWL) convened its second annual general meeting on October 27, 2026, where shareholders unanimously approved several resolutions pivotal to the company's fiscal and strategic objectives.
Shareholders approved GCWL's annual accounts for the financial year ending June 30, 2026. The meeting also saw the reappointment of M/s Ilyas Saeed & Company as the company's auditors for the ensuing year, ensuring continuity in financial oversight.
In matters of special business, GCWL received shareholder approval to dispose of the Letters of Rights (LoRs) through the open market. This move, in line with Section 183 of the Companies Act, 2017, allows the board to determine the terms of disposal for shares in Ghani Chemical Industries Limited (GCIL). According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company plans to execute this disposal in one or more tranches, reflecting a strategic approach to optimize market conditions.
Further, shareholders sanctioned an enhancement of the existing investment limit in Ghani Global Holdings Limited (GGL) and Ghani Global Glass Limited (GGGL) from Rs. 500 million to Rs. 600 million. This increased investment, structured as Long-Term Running Musharakah, underscores GCWL's commitment to bolstering its financial partnerships. The resolution for enhancing the investment limit in GCIL to Rs. 600 million was also approved, ensuring alignment with strategic growth plans.
These resolutions, valid for three years, empower GCWL's CEO and Company Secretary to execute necessary actions, including negotiations and finalizing agreements, thereby facilitating the implementation of these strategic decisions.
