Government Appoints New Directors to K-Electric Board

Islamabad: On July 24, 2024, a significant reshuffle occurred in the boardroom of K-Electric Limited, as the Government of Pakistan appointed new directors to represent its interests.

This administrative adjustment was prompted by a Notification from the Government of Pakistan dated July 24, 2024, which mandated the inclusion of high-ranking officials as directors on the Board of K-Electric Limited. The new representatives from the Government include Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial and Mr. Imdad Ullah Basal, who hold the positions of Secretary, Power Division, and Secretary, Finance Division, respectively. Alongside them, Mr. Javed Kureishi has also been appointed.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the transition follows the departure of the previous government nominees, Mr. Arshad Majeed Mohmand, Dr. Imran Ullah Khan, and Mr. Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, who have ceased their directorial roles as of the same date.

The changes on the Board are crucial as they potentially influence the strategic direction of K-Electric, a key player in the energy sector.
