Karachi: Indus Motor Company Limited has announced the temporary shutdown of its production plant due to a persistent shortage of raw materials and supply chain challenges, affecting its vehicle manufacturing capabilities. This decision aligns with the guidelines outlined in Section 96 and 131 of the Securities Act 2015 and Clause 5.6.1(a) of the Pakistan Stock Exchange Regulations.

The Karachi-based automaker reported that it is grappling with a low inventory of raw materials and components, which has led to an inability to meet ongoing production demands. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), these supply chain disruptions have necessitated a halt in operations to address the shortages effectively.

As a result, the company has scheduled a temporary closure of its facility from August 6, 2024, through August 8, 2024. This brief shutdown is intended to manage the current lack of parts and components required for the assembly of vehicles.

Stakeholders, including certificate holders of the Exchange, have been advised of this operational adjustment. This measure is expected to impact the company’s production output temporarily but is essential to managing the current challenges effectively.
