Islamabad High Court Directs SECP to Reinstate United Insurance’s Guarantee Business

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has issued a directive to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to retract a press release that announced the cessation of the guarantee business of The United Insurance Company of Pakistan Limited. The court's decision, dated July 28, 2025, mandates the SECP to provide a compliance report, which was duly submitted on July 30, 2025, to the Deputy Registrar (Judicial) of the Islamabad High Court.

The court's directive follows an earlier order suspending the SECP's previous instructions to halt the guarantee business operations of the company. As a result, The United Insurance Company of Pakistan Limited has resumed its guarantee business and plans to issue a formal press release to inform stakeholders of the development.
