Karachi: KSB Pumps Company Limited has reported its financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2025, showing a turnaround in profitability compared to the corresponding period last year. The company's Board of Directors approved the results during a meeting held on April 23, 2025.

For the first quarter of 2025, KSB Pumps reported sales totaling 1.59 billion rupees, an increase from 1.23 billion rupees recorded in the same period of 2024. The cost of sales rose to 1.24 billion rupees from 999.17 million rupees, resulting in a gross profit of 357.18 million rupees, up from 233.45 million rupees last year.

The company incurred distribution and marketing expenses amounting to 139.05 million rupees, a rise from 127.61 million rupees in the first quarter of 2024. Additionally, administration expenses increased to 92.30 million rupees from 76.36 million rupees. Other operating expenses showed a significant increase to 37.65 million rupees from 884,000 rupees previously.

Profit from operations stood at 59.17 million rupees, compared to 28.60 million rupees in the corresponding period of the prior year. Other operating income decreased to 8.83 million rupees from 20.45 million rupees, while finance costs substantially reduced to 3.41 million rupees from 113.62 million rupees.

The company posted a profit before taxation of 64.59 million rupees, marking a notable recovery from a loss of 64.57 million rupees reported in the first quarter of 2024. After accounting for taxation of 4.44 million rupees, KSB Pumps recorded a profit for the period of 60.15 million rupees, compared to a loss of 99.61 million rupees the previous year.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the earnings per share increased to 1.95 rupees, a significant improvement from a loss of 7.55 rupees in the first quarter of 2024.
