Karachi: Mari Energies Limited announced a significant new gas and condensate discovery in the Hangu Formation at the Spinwam-1 well located in the Waziristan Block, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The discovery was confirmed by a statement issued by the company on April 3, 2025.

The Spinwam-1 well has demonstrated a flow rate of 23.85 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas and approximately 122 barrels of condensate per day. The flow was measured with a 32/64″ choke and recorded a Well Head Flowing Pressure (WHFP) of 4,042 psig. This marks the third discovery of gas and condensate in the area, following previous successful exploration activities.

Mari Energies Limited, which operates the Waziristan Block, holds a 55% working interest in the venture. The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited and Orient Petroleum Inc. are joint venture partners, holding 35% and 10% working interests, respectively. The company has indicated that further testing of additional targeted formations is currently underway to fully assess the well’s potential.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Mari Energies Limited has communicated the discovery to the TRE certificate holders of the exchange. The notice, identified as reference number CA-25-4427, also detailed the previous discovery at the Spinwam-1 well, attributed to the Kawagarh Formation, which was communicated on March 17, 2025.
