Karachi: Mari Energies Limited has announced the commencement of gas supply from its Shams-1 discovery in the Mari Development & Production Lease located in Daharki, Sindh Province. This development follows the approval from the government, marking a significant milestone for the energy company. The gas supply, with a capacity of up to 30 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd), began on June 19, 2026, and is directed to the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) during the Extended Well Testing (EWT) period.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Mari Energies Limited is the sole operator of the Mari Development & Production Lease, holding a 100% working interest in the operation. This strategic move is in line with the company's efforts to enhance energy supply in the region, leveraging the new resources from the Shams-1 well.
The disclosure of this material and price-sensitive information was made in compliance with Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1 (a) of the PSX Regulations. The initial discovery of gas and condensate at the Shams-1 Well was previously communicated in March 2026, and this latest development signifies the operational progress made by Mari Energies Limited in harnessing the discovery for commercial supply.
