MCB Investment Management Limited Announces Financial Results Showing Significant Income Increase

Karachi: The Board of Directors of MCB Investment Management Limited, the management company overseeing the Pakistan Income Fund, has disclosed the financial results for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2026. The announcement was made during a meeting held at the company's head office in Karachi on Tuesday, August 04, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

The income statement reveals a notable financial performance for the Pakistan Income Fund, with total income reaching 635.54 million rupees. This represents a very large increase from the 421.07 million rupees reported in the previous year. The increase is largely attributed to a substantial rise in profit on savings accounts with banks, which soared to 265.82 million rupees, up from 32.91 million rupees in the prior year.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the fund's income from government securities decreased to 123.76 million rupees from 241.07 million rupees the previous year. Income from term finance certificates also saw a decline, falling to 56.71 million rupees from 69.65 million rupees. However, new income streams such as commercial paper and dividend income contributed 5.51 million rupees and 28.95 million rupees respectively.

The fund's expenses saw a moderate increase, rising to 59.26 million rupees from 53.32 million rupees a year earlier. Key expenses included the remuneration of the management company, MCB Investment Management Limited, which stood at 38.03 million rupees, slightly lower than the 38.21 million rupees recorded last year. Brokerage, settlement, and bank charges increased to 6.47 million rupees from 3.06 million rupees.

Net income before taxation increased significantly to 576.29 million rupees, compared to 367.75 million rupees in the previous year, marking a very large move. The fund was not subject to taxation for either fiscal year, resulting in a net income after taxation of 576.29 million rupees, up from the previous year's 367.75 million rupees.

The allocation of net income indicates that after accounting for income already paid on redeemed units, totaling 342.28 million rupees, the remaining accounting income available for distribution excluding capital gains was 234.01 million rupees, compared to 137.95 million rupees last year.

The financial results reflect both challenges and opportunities faced by the Pakistan Income Fund in the current economic landscape, underscoring the fund's strategic management decisions over the fiscal year.
