MCB Investment Management Limited Reports Decrease in Net Income for Fiscal Year 2026

Karachi: MCB Investment Management Limited, the management company overseeing the MCB Cash Management Optimizer, has released its financial results for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. The announcement was made following a board meeting held at the company's head office in Karachi on Tuesday, August 04, 2026.

The income statement for the MCB Cash Management Optimizer reveals a total income of 11.25 billion rupees for the year ended June 30, 2026, compared to 12.71 billion rupees in the previous year. This marks a notable change in the company's financial performance.

A detailed breakdown of the income shows that the profit on bank deposits rose significantly to 6.81 billion rupees from 917.48 million rupees in the previous year. Income from government securities, however, declined to 3.59 billion rupees from 10.83 billion rupees in the prior fiscal year. Income from letters of placement also increased to 816.35 million rupees from 96.19 million rupees, while secured lending arrangements generated 25.25 million rupees, down from 143.79 million rupees.

Operating expenses for the period amounted to 1.07 billion rupees, down from 1.19 billion rupees the previous year. The remuneration of MCB Investment Management Limited as the Management Company was recorded at 795.77 million rupees, compared to 902.42 million rupees last year.

Net income for the year before taxation stood at 10.18 billion rupees, decreasing from 11.52 billion rupees in the prior year. There was no taxation applied for both years, keeping the net income after taxation consistent with the pre-tax figures.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the net income allocation for the year after taxation amounted to 10.18 billion rupees. Income already paid on units redeemed was recorded at 9.41 billion rupees, resulting in a remaining net income allocation of 770.80 million rupees, down from 1.28 billion rupees in the previous fiscal year.

The accounting income available for distribution, excluding capital gains, was 763.35 million rupees, a reduction from 832.20 million rupees last year. Income relating to capital gains was 7.45 million rupees, compared to 445.83 million rupees in the prior year.

The financial results indicate a big move in income dynamics, reflecting a strategic shift in the company's investment approach amidst changing market conditions.
