Fauji Fertilizer Company’s Market Share Surges Amid Urea and DAP Growth

Islamabad: Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited (FFC) has reported a significant increase in its market share for the period ending June 30, 2026, driven by robust growth in both the urea and DAP sectors, as disclosed in the company's corporate briefing. The report, dated August 4, 2026, highlights substantial gains in both market segments over the past year.

In the urea market, the overall market expanded by 7%, with FFC's market share rising to 56% from 48% during the same period last year. Industry sales climbed to 2,512 kilotons from 2,351 kilotons in the comparable period of 2025, reflecting a 7% growth. Specifically, Sona Urea (P) sales increased by 26%, reaching 1,241 kilotons in June 2026 compared to 983 kilotons in June 2025. Sona Urea (G) also saw a 17% increase in sales, rising from 139 kilotons to 163 kilotons. Overall, FFC's total urea sales exhibited a 25% increase, growing from 1,122 kilotons to 1,404 kilotons.

The DAP market also experienced a 7% expansion, with FFC's market share improving to 65% from 63% in the same period last year. Industry sales rose to 485 kilotons from 455 kilotons in the previous year. Sona DAP sales increased by 6%, reaching 276 kilotons in June 2026, up from 261 kilotons the previous year. Imported DAP sales showed a significant move, with a 58% increase, climbing from 27 kilotons to 42 kilotons. Overall, total DAP sales increased by 11%, rising from 288 kilotons to 318 kilotons.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), FFC's components of profitability indicate a substantial contribution from investment and dividend income. Profit from fertilizer operations accounted for 55% of the total, with actual figures reaching PKR 22,947 million in 2026, up from PKR 18,382 million in 2025. Investment income contributed 13%, although it showed a reduction from PKR 6,135 million to PKR 5,275 million. Dividend income represented 32% of profitability, with figures slightly decreasing from PKR 13,935 million to PKR 13,624 million. The net profit for FFC was reported at PKR 41,846 million, showing an increase from PKR 38,452 million the previous year.
