Karachi: The Board of Directors of MCB Investment Management Limited, overseeing the Alhamra Islamic Active Allocation Fund, has released the financial results for the year ending June 30, 2026. The announcement came following a board meeting held at the company's headquarters in Karachi on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
The financial performance of the Alhamra Islamic Active Allocation Fund witnessed notable changes. The total income for the year was recorded at 37.81 million rupees, a slight decrease from the previous year's 38.06 million rupees. Key contributors to this income included a capital gain on the sale of investments, which nearly doubled to 23,823,000 rupees from 11,106,000 rupees in 2025, marking a very large or significant move.
Markup on bank deposits showed a minor move with an increase to 738,000 rupees from 723,000 rupees. However, dividend income saw a complete drop from 10,080,000 rupees to zero. Unrealised appreciation on investments adjusted slightly from 16,147,000 rupees to 13,244,000 rupees, indicating a moderate move.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the fund's expenses rose to 2.01 million rupees from 1.56 million rupees. This increase was driven by higher costs in several areas, including the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan's annual fee, which increased significantly, and auditors' remuneration, which saw a substantial rise to 1.14 million rupees from 816,000 rupees.
The net income for the year before taxation reached 35.80 million rupees, down from 36.50 million rupees the previous year. Post-taxation, the net income remained the same as pre-tax figures, maintaining at 35.80 million rupees, as no taxation was applied. Earnings per unit were not specified in the report.
A breakdown of the income available for distribution showed a total of 27.79 million rupees, a decrease from 34.59 million rupees in 2025. The allocation relating to capital gains amounted to 28,739,000 rupees, while excluding capital gains, the fund reported a deficit of 953,000 rupees. Income already paid on units redeemed was 8,010,000 rupees, up from 1,904,000 rupees in the previous year.
The financial results reflect a year of mixed performance for the Alhamra Islamic Active Allocation Fund, with certain areas showing significant growth while others experienced declines, providing a comprehensive snapshot of the fund's financial health over the past year.
