MCB Pakistan Sovereign Fund Reports Very Large or Significant Move in Assets and Net Assets

Karachi: The Board of Directors of MCB Investment Management Limited, the management company of MCB Pakistan Sovereign Fund, announced the financial results for the year ending June 30, 2025. The board's meeting took place on August 4, 2025, at the company's head office in Karachi.

According to the financial statements, the MCB Pakistan Sovereign Fund experienced a very large or significant move in its total assets, which increased to 29.26 billion rupees from 14.40 billion rupees in the previous year. The fund's net assets also saw a very large or significant move, rising to 28.81 billion rupees compared to 11.08 billion rupees a year earlier. The increase in investments from 10.77 billion rupees to 24.04 billion rupees contributed notably to this growth.

The fund's liabilities saw a very large or significant move, decreasing from 3.32 billion rupees to 447.71 million rupees. This reduction in liabilities was largely due to the elimination of payables against the purchase of investments, which had been recorded at 3.23 billion rupees the previous year.

The fund did not disclose earnings per unit (EPU), citing impracticability in calculating the weighted average number of units. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the fund's substantial financial performance illustrates a robust year, reflecting significant investment activities and effective liability management.

The management company has committed to distributing the requisite number of printed accounts among the exchange members, ensuring transparency and accessibility of the financial data reported. The distinct financial outcomes of the MCB Pakistan Sovereign Fund underline its substantial progress in asset and investment management over the past year.
