Pakistan Income Enhancement Fund Reports Significant Asset Decline Amidst Financial Results for 2025

Karachi: The Board of Directors of MCB Investment Management Limited, overseeing the Pakistan Income Enhancement Fund, declared the financial results for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. The meeting was convened at their head office in Karachi on Monday, August 4, 2025.

The financial statements revealed a substantial contraction of the fund's total assets. The assets dropped from 7.02 billion last year to 1.19 billion this year, marking a very large or significant move. This downturn is largely attributed to a pronounced decrease in investments, which fell from 5.24 billion to 272.95 million. Bank balances, however, showed a big move upwards, ascending from 101.34 million to 839.02 million.

Liabilities also experienced a notable reduction, declining from 1.12 billion to 114.00 million, indicating a very large or significant move. The net assets stood at 1.07 billion, a considerable decrease from the previous year's 5.90 billion.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the number of units in issue saw a big move decrease, dropping from 107,385,628 to 19,483,501. Despite these shifts, the net asset value per unit remained relatively stable, showing only a minor move from 54.9344 to 55.0133.

The management chose not to disclose earnings per unit, citing the impracticality of calculating the weighted average number of units. The financial statements included comprehensive documentation, such as the statement of assets and liabilities, profit and loss, and cash flows, among others.

The fiscal results will be disseminated among the members of the exchange, providing them with printed accounts for detailed examination.
