Mubarak Textile Mills Reports Big Profit Despite Zero Sales

Lahore: Mubarak Textile Mills Limited has released its annual report for the financial year ending June 30, 2026, highlighting a significant turnaround with a reported profit, despite having no sales or processing income for the period. The report, dated October 6, 2026, details the financial and operational performance of the company over the past year.

According to the financial review, Mubarak Textile Mills Limited recorded an operating loss of 10,239,648 Pakistani Rupees, which is an increase from the previous year's loss of 9,775,671 Pakistani Rupees. The financial cost for the year was reported at 3,977 Pakistani Rupees, while taxation increased substantially to 6,185,715 Pakistani Rupees from 2,182,751 Pakistani Rupees in the prior year. Despite these figures, the company posted a profit of 9,108,890 Pakistani Rupees for the year, a significant improvement from the previous year's loss of 1,616,792 Pakistani Rupees. Profit per share also rose to 1.69 Pakistani Rupees from a loss per share of 0.30 Pakistani Rupees last year.

The report attributes the profit before taxation of 2.923 million Pakistani Rupees, after accounting for all administrative and financial charges including depreciation of 1.345 million Pakistani Rupees, as a considerable improvement from the previous year’s pre-tax profit of 0.566 million Pakistani Rupees. The directors noted that due to industry-wide crises and energy problems, the company was unable to engage in any business activities. However, income earned from rent has been recognized as the primary source of income for the company.

The auditors' report addressed observations regarding interest-free loans from sponsors, which are classified as long-term loans that are granted as needed by the company and repaid when requested by the sponsors. Additionally, no trading in the company’s shares was conducted by the directors, CEO, CFO, company secretary, and their immediate family members.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), there was no trading activity noted for Mubarak Textile Mills Limited shares during this period.

The board of directors conducted four meetings throughout the year, with notable attendance from directors Mr. Zulfiqar Ali, Mr. Nadeem Abbass, Mr. Nafees Iqbal, Mr. Abdul Shakoor, Mr. Shakeel Ahmed, Mr. Abdul Jabbar, and Mrs. Sana Khalid, each attending all four meetings. Mr. Ch. Naseer Ahmad attended two meetings, and those unable to attend were granted leave of absence.
