NBP Riba Free Savings Fund Reports Significant Changes in Financial Performance

Karachi: NBP Fund Management Limited has released the annual report for its NBP Riba Free Savings Fund, detailing the financial performance as of June 30, 2026. According to the report dated October 1, 2026, the fund exhibited notable shifts in various financial metrics over the past year.

The statement of assets and liabilities revealed a significant change in bank balances, which decreased from approximately 22.29 billion rupees in 2025 to about 3.84 billion rupees in 2026, marking a very large move. However, investments saw a substantial increase from 2.70 billion rupees to 6.71 billion rupees, indicating a very large move. The profit receivable also showed a big move, increasing from 149.57 million rupees to 268.49 million rupees.

Total assets saw a moderate move, declining from 36.03 billion rupees in 2025 to 27.48 billion rupees in 2026. Liabilities experienced a very large move, dropping from approximately 4.41 billion rupees to 504.89 million rupees. Consequently, net assets decreased from 31.62 billion rupees to 26.97 billion rupees, showing a very large move.

The income statement for the year ending June 30, 2026, reflected a total income of 2.30 billion rupees, up from 1.26 billion rupees in 2025, marking a very large move. This increase was primarily driven by the profit on savings accounts with banks, which rose to 1.23 billion rupees from 699.93 million rupees, and the income on bai muajjal receivable, which surged from 64.75 million rupees to 341.68 million rupees.

However, the fund's expenses also saw a very large move, climbing from 93.79 million rupees in 2025 to 222.93 million rupees in 2026. Despite the rise in expenses, the net income for the year after taxation was 2.08 billion rupees, marking a very large move compared to the previous year's 1.16 billion rupees.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the number of units in issue decreased from 3,055,650,364 in 2025 to 2,597,517,912 in 2026, representing a very large move. The net asset value per unit saw a minor move, increasing from 10.3479 rupees to 10.3837 rupees.

The allocation of net income for the year, after accounting for income already paid on units redeemed, resulted in 247.97 million rupees available for distribution, compared to 182.86 million rupees in the previous year, indicating a big move.
