Nishat Chunian Power Limited Joins Consortium for FESCO Divestment

Lahore: Nishat Chunian Power Limited has announced its decision to participate in a consortium for the privatisation of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO). The move, officially reported on August 6, 2026, sees the company aligning with several other entities, including Pakgen Limited, Lalpir Limited, Nishat Power Limited, Nishat Mills Limited, Kohinoor Energy Limited, and Pak Elektron Limited.

The comprehensive disclosure, adhering to Sections 96 and 131 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1(a) of the PSX Regulations, details the consortium's formation. Nishat Chunian Power Limited has obtained the Request for Statement of Qualification (RSOQ) from the Privatisation Commission, aimed at facilitating the divestment of FESCO.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company's Board of Directors has approved its participation, designating Pakgen Limited as the lead consortium member. This designation grants Pakgen Limited authority to manage consortium affairs throughout the privatisation process.

As of the report date, Nishat Chunian Power Limited clarified that it has not entered into any binding obligations concerning the transaction. The endeavour remains contingent upon pre-qualification by the Privatisation Commission and requisite corporate and regulatory approvals.
