Nishat Power Maintains Steady Performance in Pakistan Stock Exchange

Karachi, In a recent update from the Pakistan Stock Exchange on 27 February 2024, Nishat Power (NPL), a prominent energy company, maintained its closing price at PKR 31.8, unchanged from its opening. The stock fluctuated between a low of PKR 31.16 and a high of PKR 31.43 throughout the trading session, with a total of 887,561 shares traded. The closing price was slightly lower than the opening, settling at PKR 31.33.

In addition to its primary listing, Nishat Power had several derivative contracts traded. The April futures contract (NPL-APR) did not see any trading activity but was quoted with a closing price of PKR 31.37. Similarly, the April B contract (NPL-APRB) remained inactive, with a closing bid at PKR 30.02, indicating a potential downward adjustment in investor expectations.

The March futures contract (NPL-MAR) showed a bit more activity, opening at PKR 31.35 and closing slightly higher at PKR 31.4, with a total of 232,000 shares traded, indicating a stable short-term outlook among investors. On the contrary, the March B contract (NPL-MARB) opened at PKR 30.05 and closed at PKR 30.12, with 233,000 shares changing hands. The closing price significantly deviated to PKR 29.46, suggesting a more bearish stance among some market participants.

Lastly, the May futures contract (NPL-MAY) did not record any transactions but was noted with a closing price of PKR 30.73, pointing towards investor anticipation of future price movements.
