Pakistan Stock Exchange Suspends Trading for Two Firms Amid Regulatory Lapses

Karachi: Two companies, M/s. National Fibres Limited and M/s. Prudential Investment Bank Limited, continue to face trading suspensions on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) as they have yet to address multiple regulatory infractions. This announcement follows an earlier PSX notice dated August 6, 2025.

The PSX has suspended the firms for failing to hold their Annual General Meetings, neglecting to submit annual audited accounts, non-payment of exchange dues, failure to induct ordinary shares into the Central Depository System (CDS), and facing winding-up petitions filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) in court.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), these suspensions will remain in effect until October 6, 2025, or until the companies rectify the violations. The decision is based on the powers granted to the Exchange under Sub-Section (7) of Section 19 of the Securities Act, 2015, and clause 5.11 of PSX Regulations.

This development underscores the stringent regulatory environment in Pakistan's financial markets, particularly within the designated market category of publicly listed companies.
