Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has announced the suspension of trading in the shares of Trust Investment Bank Limited and Safa Textiles Limited, effective July 29, 2025. This decision follows the companies' failure to address the reasons for their trading suspensions, as detailed in a PSX notice dated May 27, 2025.
Trust Investment Bank Limited has been cited for multiple defaults under PSX Regulations, including the failure to hold Annual General Meetings, non-submission of Annual Audited Financial Statements, and non-payment of dues to the exchange. Additionally, its Investment Financing Services (IFS) license has been canceled by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), which has also ordered the initiation of winding-up proceedings against the company.
Similarly, Safa Textiles Limited faces suspension due to its failure to conduct Annual General Meetings, non-submission of Annual Audited Financial Statements, and non-payment of dues to the exchange.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), trading in the shares of these companies will remain halted until the causes of suspension are rectified or for an additional period of 60 days. The decision is based on the powers vested in the exchange under Sub-Section (7) of Section 19 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.11 of the PSX Regulations.
These developments highlight the ongoing challenges faced by companies in adhering to regulatory requirements, impacting their market category within the exchange.
