Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd. Postpones Board Meeting Amid Supreme Court Judgment

Karachi: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd. (PTCL) has announced the postponement of its scheduled Board of Directors meeting originally set for July 23, 2025. The meeting was intended to consider the quarterly financial results for the period ending June 30, 2025, and to discuss any potential entitlements.

The decision to delay the meeting stems from a recent Supreme Court of Pakistan judgment that addresses pensionary benefits for PTCL employees. This development necessitates a thorough assessment of the judgment's financial implications and their integration into the company's quarterly accounts. A new date for the Board meeting will be communicated once finalized.

According to the initial announcement made via PUCARS on July 11, 2025, PTCL had declared a closed period from July 14, 2025, to July 23, 2025, in compliance with Clause 5.6.4 of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) Regulations. This closed period will be adjusted to align with the rescheduled Board meeting date.

In light of these changes, the Form 1 issued on July 11, 2025, has been revoked. A revised Form 1 will be submitted to the PSX upon finalizing the new Board meeting date to review the quarterly financial results and any entitlements.

The company has urged TRE Certificate Holders of the Exchange to be informed of these developments. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), PTCL's decision to postpone the meeting is a strategic move to ensure the financial results accurately reflect recent legal outcomes.

The market awaits further updates from PTCL regarding the rescheduling of the Board meeting and the potential impact of the Supreme Court's ruling on the company's financial performance. PTCL's actions are being closely monitored by investors and stakeholders, given the potential implications on the telecommunications sector.
