Paramount Spinning Mills Reports Stark Contrast in Yearly Financial Outcomes

Karachi: In a recent corporate disclosure, Paramount Spinning Mills Limited has announced a significant turnaround in its financial performance for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024. The details emerged following a board meeting in Lahore on October 5, 2024, where the financial results were approved and publicly shared.

The company reported a gross profit of PKR 14.90 million for the year, a marked improvement from a gross loss of PKR 6.42 million in the previous year. This shift comes despite the company's decision to issue no cash dividends, bonus shares, or rights shares this year.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the textile manufacturer's net sales stood at PKR 18.07 million, significantly up from just PKR 0.89 million in the prior year. The cost of sales was slightly reduced, aiding in the recovery from a steep financial dip noted in the previous year's records.

Additionally, the company's net profit after tax has surged to PKR 14.09 million from a substantial net loss of PKR 6.43 million reported at the end of June 2023. Earnings per share also reflected this positive trajectory, improving to PKR 0.81 from a loss of PKR 0.37 per share a year earlier.

These financial results highlight a year of recovery and operational optimization for Paramount Spinning Mills, even as they chose to withhold shareholder dividends in a cautious approach to capital management. The company's future financial strategies remain closely watched by investors and market analysts, especially considering the volatile textile market dynamics.
