Karachi: Shezan International Limited, a major player in the juice and food product industry, held its corporate briefing session on June 24, 2024, where it outlined its financial and operational progress under continued regulatory pressures.
The company, which has been operational since 1964, reported a revenue of 8.75 billion PKR for the year 2024, marking a consistent upward trajectory in its financial performance. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Shezan International has expanded its operations significantly over the years, with manufacturing units in both KPK and Sindh provinces contributing to this growth.
However, the company faces ongoing challenges due to increasing governmental regulations. In the past year, the Federal Excise Duty (FED) on its products was raised twice, reaching a high of 20% by mid-2023. Despite these hurdles, Shezan’s proactive engagement with the government, through the Fruit Juice Council, has so far prevented further increases in the FED for 2024.
Shezan International continues to focus on innovation and market expansion, with plans to enter the bottled water segment soon. This move is part of a broader strategy to diversify its product offerings and mitigate the impact of seasonal fluctuations in its traditional product lines.
