Karachi: Soneri Bank Limited has announced the loss of several share certificates, urging caution among potential traders and stakeholders. The bank disclosed the details on 04 July 2025, stating that the shares were reported lost by legal heirs in Lahore.
The bank has identified multiple certificate numbers that have gone missing. These include certificates with distinctive numbers from 22941501 to 2294110, totaling 200 shares, among several others. In specific cases, certificate numbers ranged from 279416 to 279417, and distinctive numbers spanned from 92709281 to 92709403, accounting for 123 shares. Other reported losses include 82 shares from certificate number 459622 and 24 shares from certificate number 444613.
The legal heir, Tahir Sadiq, who resides in Naseeraabad, Gulberg-3, Lahore, has notified the loss of these certificates. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Soneri Bank Limited has requested members of the Exchange to avoid dealings in the reported certificate numbers unless objections are filed within 21 days of this notice.
The comprehensive list of lost shares includes various certificate numbers such as 496140-496141 with distinctive numbers from 105378111 to 105378243, comprising 133 shares, and 526084-526086 with distinctive numbers from 170089115 to 170089374, totaling 260 shares, among others. The total quantity of lost shares spans several categories, with some batches reaching as high as 474 shares, under certificate numbers ranging from 590096 to 590100.
Soneri Bank Limited has assured stakeholders that duplicate share certificates will be issued to the legal heirs if no objections are received within the stipulated period, ensuring continuity and security for the involved parties.
