Karachi: BankIslami Pakistan Limited has officially announced a temporary suspension of trading for its Sukuk securities [BIPLSC2], set to coincide with an upcoming book closure period for profit payments. The designated market category for these securities is Islamic financing instruments.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the trading halt will affect the Sukuk from September 27, 2024, through September 30, 2024. This suspension facilitates the closure of books scheduled from September 28, 2024, to September 30, 2024, which will determine the beneficiaries eligible for the forthcoming profit distribution.
This interruption in trading activities is a routine measure during profit payment periods to ensure accurate and equitable financial transactions among holders of the Sukuk. Trading is expected to resume on October 1, 2024, following the completion of the profit disbursement process.
Stakeholders and investors are advised to make note of these dates and adjust their trading strategies accordingly to accommodate the temporary suspension. This advisory aims to ensure that all concerned parties are aware and can plan their investment activities around these dates.
