Temporary Suspension Announced for Alfalah Consumer Index ETF Creation and Redemption

Karachi: The creation and redemption process for the Alfalah Consumer Index ETF (ACIETF) will be temporarily suspended from April 21, 2025, to April 25, 2025, affecting only the primary market. This suspension is in accordance with Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015, Clause 5.6.1(a) of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) Regulations, and the Offering Document of the Alfalah Consumer Index Fund.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), while the processes in the primary market will be on hold, trading in the secondary market will continue without interruption. This measure provides continuity for investors engaging in secondary market activities despite the temporary halt in creation and redemption.

The suspension, which impacts the designated market category of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), is set to last for a period of five days. Stakeholders, including TRE Certificate Holders, are requested to take note of this temporary change. The Pakistan Stock Exchange will issue a notification once the suspension period has concluded.
