Karachi: Thatta Cement Company Limited has announced the approval of a new wind power project, expanding its renewable energy footprint. The announcement, dated December 31, 2025, reveals the company’s plan to develop an additional wind power facility with a capacity of 7.5 MW.
This decision follows the successful completion and commissioning of a 4.8 MW wind power project by the company. With the addition of the new project, Thatta Cement’s total installed capacity from renewable energy sources will reach 17.3 MW. This includes two wind power projects with capacities of 4.8 MW and 7.5 MW, respectively, alongside an existing 5 MW solar power installation.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), this expansion underscores Thatta Cement’s commitment to integrating sustainable environmental practices into its operations. The new investment is anticipated to generate substantial cost savings and reduce the country’s dependence on fossil fuels.
The company has requested that the information be circulated among the certificate holders of the exchange to ensure transparency and adherence to regulatory requirements.
