Trading Suspension of SME Leasing Limited Shares Extended Due to Non-Compliance

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has announced the extension of the trading suspension of M/s. SME Leasing Limited shares due to ongoing non-compliance issues. The decision follows PSX Notice No. PSX/N-231, initially issued on February 28, 2025, which outlined the reasons for the suspension.

M/s. SME Leasing Limited has failed to address the causes of the trading suspension, which include an adverse opinion from its statutory auditor in the audit report and the cancellation of its leasing license by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). As a result, the PSX has exercised its authority under Sub-Section (7) of Section 19 of the Securities Act, 2015, and PSX Regulations 5.11, to extend the suspension until the issues are resolved or for an additional period of 60 days effective from April 30, 2025.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the trading suspension will remain in place until M/s. SME Leasing Limited rectifies the causes or until the extended period lapses. This action is part of the regulatory measures to ensure compliance with relevant financial and operational standards.

The designated market category remains unchanged as the company works to address the regulatory requirements. The PSX's decision underscores its commitment to maintaining the integrity and transparency of the trading environment, pending full compliance by M/s. SME Leasing Limited.
