MCB Pakistan Stock Market Fund Sees Significant Income Growth in 2026

Karachi: The Board of Directors of MCB Investment Management Limited, which manages the MCB Pakistan Stock Market Fund, has approved the financial results for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. The board meeting took place at the company's head office in Karachi on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

According to the financial results, the fund's total income for the year was reported at 12.22 billion rupees, an increase from 7.93 billion rupees in the previous year, reflecting very large income growth. Notably, the net realized gain on the sale of investments was 6.45 billion rupees, up from 3.85 billion rupees, while dividend income also rose to 1.62 billion rupees from 875.48 million rupees. Profit on savings accounts with banks increased to 144.94 million rupees from 83.87 million rupees. The net unrealized appreciation on re-measurement of investments classified as 'financial assets at fair value through profit or loss' was 4.01 billion rupees, compared to 3.12 billion rupees in the previous fiscal year.

The fund's expenses also saw significant growth, totaling 1.33 billion rupees, up from 651.15 million rupees. This includes the remuneration of the management company, MCB Investment Management Limited, which increased to 979.04 million rupees from 462.55 million rupees. The Sindh Sales Tax on the remuneration of the management company was 146.86 million rupees, compared to 69.38 million rupees previously. Remuneration for the Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited, acting as trustee, was 33.64 million rupees, up from 14.29 million rupees.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the fund's net income for the year before taxation stood at 10.89 billion rupees, a rise from 7.27 billion rupees. The net income after taxation mirrored this, as no taxation was applied.

The net income allocated for the year, after accounting for income already paid on units redeemed, was reported at 6.24 billion rupees, up from 4.83 billion rupees. This includes accounting income available for distribution relating to capital gains at 5.95 billion rupees, an increase from 4.63 billion rupees, and income excluding capital gains at 292.30 million rupees, up from 201.01 million rupees.

These results highlight the fund's robust performance and substantial growth in income over the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026.
