AN Textile Mills Limited Reports Significant Turnaround in Quarterly Profits

Karachi: AN Textile Mills Limited has reported a marked improvement in its financial performance for the first quarter ended September 30, 2026, as disclosed in the company's un-audited condensed interim financial information released on October 30, 2026.

The company's revenue for the quarter stood at 1.07 billion rupees, reflecting a decrease from 1.28 billion rupees recorded in the same period last year. Despite the decline in revenue, AN Textile Mills Limited managed to reduce its cost of sales from 1.24 billion rupees in the previous year's quarter to 1.03 billion rupees, resulting in a gross profit of 36.11 million rupees, down from 42.10 million rupees.

Notably, the company reported a profit before levy and taxation of 26.52 million rupees, a substantial increase from 2.78 million rupees in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Profit after taxation rose to 6.84 million rupees, contrasting with a loss of 23.79 million rupees in the same period last year.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company’s earnings per share also experienced a turnaround, rising to 0.71 rupees from a loss per share of 2.46 rupees in the previous year’s quarter.

This improvement can be attributed to the company's strategic cost management, as both distribution costs and administrative expenses saw reductions. Distribution costs were reduced to 2.34 million rupees from 3.15 million rupees, and administrative expenses decreased to 17.80 million rupees from 25.64 million rupees.

Despite an increase in finance costs, which rose from 10.53 million rupees to 13.18 million rupees, the overall financial health of AN Textile Mills Limited appears to be on the mend, as indicated by the significant move in profit margins and earnings per share.

The company's directors expressed satisfaction with the results, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining financial discipline and operational efficiency in the challenging market conditions.
